TheNette (German pronunciation:[ˈnɛtə]ⓘ) is a smallriver inRhineland-Palatinate,Germany,[1] a left tributary of theRhine. It rises in theEifel, south ofNürburg. The Nette flows east throughMayen before reaching the Rhine betweenWeißenthurm andAndernach.
The Nette is not navigable and has otherwise no strategical importance. It is used in Mayen, among other things, as a supply of the local paper industry. It gives its name to the beerNette EdelPils, originally brewed in Weißenthurm (but now brewed inKoblenz by theKoblenzer Brauerei), and the Clinic Nette-Gut of Forensic Psychiatry at Weißenthurm.
