Nelson Lee (born October 16, 1975; Chinese name: 李志傑)[1] is a Taiwanese-Canadian actor. He is best known for portraying Senator Hamato Xiono inAhsoka, andDragon King inStargirl.
Lee was born inTaipei, Taiwan on October 16, 1975, and raised inCanada. Lee is a 1993 graduate fromSaint John High School. He attended theUniversity of Toronto, where he studied business and philosophy.[2][3]
He studied at theAmerican Academy of Dramatic Arts inNew York City. Early acting roles included two episodesOz (2002), as inmate Li Chen, and several appearances across theLaw & Order franchise.[4]
In 2020, Lee was cast asDragon King inStargirl.[5] The same year, he starred in theDisney live-action adaptation ofMulan as The Chancellor.
In 2023, Lee appeared as Senator Hamato Xiono inAhsoka, and as chef Emile Shao inGood Trouble. The following year, he portrayedHong Konger journalist Tony inAlex Garland's dystopian thrillerCivil War.[6]
