TheNature Boardwalk (also known as theNature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo) is an outdoor space managed by theLincoln Park Zoo, inChicago'sLincoln Park, in theU.S. state ofIllinois.[1][2]

The ecological habitat was designed byStudio Gang and features a boardwalk surrounding a pond.[3] There is also a pavilion designed to house educational activities, officially called the Peoples Gas Education Pavilion.[4]
The boardwalk opened in 2010,[5] as an improved version of the Zoo's manmade South Pond. Birds like theblack-crowned night heron,[6] as well as butterflies, fish, frogs, and turtles are present.[7] Specific butterfly species include themonarch,viceroy,cabbage white, orange and clouded sulphur,red admiral,spring azure,black swallowtail,buckeye, andpainted lady.[8] The space also features grasses, benches, and views of the skyline.[9]
