National Highway 109 (NH 109), (Previously NH 87), is a highway in India which runs in the Indian state ofUttarakhand.[1] It is one of the most important routes, connecting the entireKumaon region to the state as well as the country.[2] It is also the major route towards thehill stations such asNainital,Kausani,Ranikhet,Mukteswar andAlmora from Delhi.[3] Previously known as NH 87, it was renumbered as NH 109 in 2010. The northern terminal is atNH 7 nearKarnaprayag and the southern terminal is atNational Highway 9 nearRudrapur. More than 10,000 vehicles travel through NH-109 in tourist season.[4]

Route

The Highway Starts from its Junction withNH 9 and connecting the cities ofRudrapur,Pantnagar,Haldwani,Kathgodam,Nainital,Bhowali,Almora,Ranikhet,Dwarahat,Chaukhutia,Gairsain andAdi Badri, terminates with its junction withNH 7 nearKarnaprayag. It runs for a distance of 284 km in the districts ofUdham Singh Nagar,Nainital,Almora inKumaon andChamoli inGarhwal of the Indian state ofUttarakhand.
