TheNational Assembly (Tajik:Маҷлиси миллии,romanized: Majlisi milliyi,pronounced[mad͡ʒˈlisimilˈliji];Russian:Национальный совет) is the upper chamber ofTajikistan's bicameralparliament.Rustam Emomali, who is the son of incumbentPresidentEmomali Rahmon, is serving as the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli since April 17, 2020.[1]
Twenty-five members were elected on March 28, 2025 and the President appointed one quarter of the members in April, bringing the total number of members to thirty-one.[2]
25 out of 33 members of the National Assembly are elected indirectly bydistrict and city councils from the fiveregions of Tajikistan for a five-year term with each region being represented by equal number of members. The other eight members are appointed by thepresident. By right, former presidents are members for life.[3]

Twenty-five members of the National Assembly were elected on March 27 and in accordance of his constitutional competence President Rahmon appointed one quarter of the members of the National Assembly on Wednesday.
