Nathan Noël Romejo Tjoe-A-On (Indonesian pronunciation:[ˌt͡ʃuˈaon]choo-ah-on;[4] born 22 December 2001) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aleft-back ordefensive midfielder forEerste Divisie clubWillem II. Born in the Netherlands, he represents theIndonesia national team.
Tjoe-A-On was signed to a three-year contract withExcelsior in 2019, after developing through their youth system. However, injuries stunted his development and he lost around 14 months of playing and training time.[5] After the 2021–22 winter break he returned to action and gained confidence in his ability and felt able to do himself justice on the football field again.
Following their promotion from theEerste Divisie at the end of the 2021–22 season he received a contract extension in June 2022, for an additional two years.[6] He made hisEredivisie debut for Excelsior on 12 August 2022 againstSC Cambuur atCambuur Stadion in a 2–0 victory.[7] On 9 September 2022, he scored his first professional league goal, helping Excelsior to a 2–1 win overFC Emmen.[8]
On 13 August 2023, Tjoe-A-On signed forChampionship clubSwansea City for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.[9]
On 25 January 2024, Tjoe-A-On went toHeerenveen on loan from Swansea City for the rest of the 2023–24 season.[10] On 11 February 2024, Tjoe-A-On made his debut as asubstitute in a 3–2 win againstAjax.[11]
On 13 August 2024, Tjoe-A-On made his senior debut for The Swans in theEFL Cup first round match againstGillingham in a 3–1 win.[12]
On 17 August 2024, Tjoe-A-On made his league debut as asubstitute in a 3–0 win againstPreston North End, thus becoming the first Indonesian to play in theEFL Championship.[13]
On 21 July 2025, Tjoe-A-On officially signed withEerste Divisie clubWillem II on a two-years contract.[14]
In October 2023, Tjoe-A-On confirmed that he had decided to represent Indonesia at international level.[15]

On 7 March 2024, Tjoe-A-On received a call-up to the Indonesia national team for the2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match againstVietnam on 21 March and 26 March 2024.[16] On 21 March 2024, he made his international debut for Indonesia in a 1–0 win against Vietnam.[17]
In April 2024, Tjoe-A-On was named in theIndonesia U23 final squad for the2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup held in Qatar. He was initially only allowed to play in the group stage and return to the Netherlands afterward. However, his club Heerenveen allowed him to return to Qatar and play in the quarter-finals.[18]
Born in the Netherlands, Tjoe-A-On is of Surinamese and Indonesian descent.[19]
On 11 March 2024, Tjoe-A-On officially obtained Indonesian citizenship.[20]
