Natasha Melnick is an Americantelevision andfilm actress, best known for her role as Cindy Sanders on the short-lived 1999NBCcomedy dramaFreaks and Geeks.

Career

Melnick graduated fromSan Fernando High School in theSan Fernando Valley, and enrolled in college at age fifteen in the fall of 1999. Her first film appearance was inDisney'sThe Parent Trap. She also appeared inGo andOrange County, in addition to recurring roles onBoston Public andDo Over.

Melnick appeared as a reoccurring character inFreaks and Geeks ascheerleader Cindy Sanders, whom central character Sam Weir (John Francis Daley) had a longtime crush on. In 2000, Melnick and the rest of theFreaks and Geeks cast were nominated for theYoungStar Award for Best Ensemble Cast, though the award ultimately went toMalcolm in the Middle. In 2001, Melnick appeared in the showUndeclared, which was developed byJudd Apatow and treated as a spiritual successor toFreaks and Geeks.[1]

As of 2005[update], Melnick is a member of the band One Last Run.

Personal life

As of 2006[update], Melnick is engaged to Jeff Tucker, the singer and guitar player from the alternative rock bandRock Kills Kid.[citation needed]
