Natalio Lorenzo Poquet (Spanish pronunciation:[naˈtaljoloˈɾenθopoˈket]; born 18 September 1984), known simply asNatalio, is a Spanish professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forPrimera Federación clubReal Avilés.
He played 358 games in theSegunda División over 11 seasons, totalling 70 goals for eight clubs (mainlyNumancia). InLa Liga, he representedAlmería.
Born inCanals, Valencia,[1] Natalio played his first years as a professional with lowly clubs, being bought bySegunda División B'sCD Castellón in 2005 and spending hisfirst season on loan toFC Cartagena, also at that level.[2]
Returning for the2006–07 campaign, with Castellón now in theSegunda División, Natalio scored a team-best 15 goals as the team managed to retain their league status.[3] In that summer, he signed withUD Almería as both player and club had their firstLa Liga experience, and made his competition debut on 15 September 2007, playing 20 minutes in a 3–1 away loss againstReal Madrid.[4] He ultimately failed to settle at theAndalusians, being consecutively loaned for the duration of his contract;[5][6] he also did not manage to score in the league during his tenure.[7]
On 21 November 2009, Natalio scored three times forReal Murcia CF in a 3–0 home win overReal Unión.[8] A starter throughout thedivision two season,[9] he saw his team get relegated in the last matchday after a 1–1 draw atGirona FC (which in turn managed to stay afloat).[10]
Natalio was definitely released by Almería in June 2010, agreeing to a three-year contract at second-tierCD Tenerife on 16 July.[11] In the following summer, after theCanary Islands side suffered asecond consecutive relegation, he stayed in the league and signed forCD Numancia.[12]
After several seasons of regular playing time, Natalio joinedUE Llagostera still in the second division on 27 January 2016.[13] Following theirrelegation, he moved to newly-promotedUCAM Murcia CF on 30 June.[14]
On 14 July 2017, aged 32, Natalio moved abroad for the first time in his career and signed forChina League One clubYunnan Lijiang FC.[15]
