[edit]

Formed in 2013 on the island ofMadeira, Napa started under the name Men On The Couch. CitingArctic Monkeys,Red Hot Chili Peppers, andThe Beatles as their influences, they began their compositions in English and recorded their songs in one of the band members' grandmother's basement.[1] In 2019, they released their first album,Senso comum, recorded at BlackSheep Studios inSintra.[2] The project was financed through a crowdfunding campaign, which raised around3,500 without support from publishers.[3]

In 2023, the band released their second album,Logo se vê. It was then that the band changed their name to Napa.[4] In 2024, the band performed their first national tour. They later released the concert film entitledO Mundo Continua a Girar, recorded over two sold-out nights at theMaria Matos Theatre.[5]

On 5 November 2024, it was announced that the band are one of the songwriters forFestival da Canção 2025, the Portuguese national selection for theEurovision Song Contest.[6] It was later revealed that the band will be competing in the contest.[7] They went on to win the competition, earning the right to represent Portugal at theEurovision Song Contest 2025 inBasel, Switzerland.[8]
