Nahum Beres Job Melvin-Lambert (born 21 October 2002) is an Englishfootballer who plays as astriker forSouthern League Premier Division Central sideBishop's Stortford. Born in England, he plays for theSaint Lucia national team.
Melvin-Lambert grew up inLondon and attended theMossbourne Community Academy inHackney and was on trial withFulham in 2015.[3]
Melvin-Lambert signed forReading's Academy in 2017, aged 14.[4] He made his senior debut forReading on 5 September 2020 as a substitute forLucas João in a 3–1EFL Cup victory overColchester United at theMadejski Stadium.[5] He made two further 2 appearances that season, a 1–0 loss at home toLuton Town in the following round of theEFL Cup on 15 September[6] and another 1–0 defeat against the same opposition, this time in theFA Cup atKenilworth Road on 9 January 2021.[7] On 25 February 2021, Melvin-Lambert signed his first professional contract with Reading, until the summer of 2022, before being sent out on loan.[8]
On 25 February 2021, the same day that Melvin-Lambert signed his first professional contract withReading, he was sent out on loan toLeague of Ireland Premier Division clubSt Patrick's Athletic until June 2021.[9] Upon signing he was given the number 9 shirt.[4] Due to the team's good start to the season, he had to wait until 9 April 2021 to make his debut for the club, coming off the bench in a 2–0 win overDerry City atRichmond Park.[10] Melvin-Lambert's next appearance came on 8 May, coming off the bench for an injury time cameo in theDublin derby againstShamrock Rovers.[11] The first goal of his senior career came on 14 May 2021 when he came off the bench away toDrogheda United in the 79th minute and scored 3 minutes later.[12] Melvin-Lambert returned to his parent club in June at the end of his loan deal. Upon returning toReading, Melvin-Lambert took part in pre-season training with the first team squad and featured in friendlies againstLincoln City,[13]West Ham United[14] andCharlton Athletic.[15] On 28 July 2021, Melvin-Lambert returned toSt Patrick's Athletic on another loan, for the second half of the2021 League of Ireland Premier Division season.[16] He made his first start for the club on 8 August 2021 and opened the scoring in a 4–1 win for his side away toDundalk atOriel Park.[17] He followed that up by scoring the winning goal 5 days later in a 2–1 victory overWaterford atRichmond Park.[18] On 28 November 2021 Melvin-Lambert was an unused substitute in the2021 FAI Cup Final, receiving his first medal at senior level as his side defeated rivalsBohemians 4–3 on penalties following a 1–1 draw after extra time in front of a recordFAI Cup Final crowd of 37,126 at theAviva Stadium.[19]
On 7 May 2022, Melvin-Lambert scored 2 goals in a 4–0 win overAscot United in the final of theBerks & Bucks Senior Cup.[20] On 2 July 2022, Melvin-Lambert signed a new contract until the summer of 2023.[21]
On 12 September 2022, Melvin-Lambert joinedNational League South sideHemel Hempstead Town on a one-month youth loan deal.[22] He made his debut on 14 September 2022 in a 3–1 loss away toDulwich Hamlet.[23] On 24 September 2022, he scored his first goal for the club, opening the scoring in a 1–1 draw againstWorthing with a 28th minute penalty.[24]
On 3 February 2023, Melvin-Lambert signed forWeymouth in theNational League South on a one-month loan deal.[25]
On 17 May 2023, it was announced that Melvin-Lambert would leaveReading in the summer of 2023, upon the expiry of his contract.[26]
On 11 August 2023,Weymouth announced the signing of Melvin-Lambert.[27]
In August 2024, Melvin-Lambert joinedIsthmian League South Central clubSutton Common Rovers.[28] He departed the club in November 2024,[29] later joiningBishop's Stortford
On 2 June 2023, Melvin-Lambert was named in theSaint Lucia squad for the2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.[1] On 16 June 2023, he made his international debut in a 3–1 defeat toMartinique in the2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup preliminary round.[30]
