Naft Maysan SC (also known asNaft Missan ) (Arabic :نادي نفط ميسان ,lit. ' Maysan's Oil ' ) is anIraqi professionalfootball club based inAmarah ,Maysan that competes in theIraq Stars League , the top flight offootball in Iraq .
Naft Maysan Sports Club was founded in 2003 by theMinistry of Oil .[ 1] In2009–10 season , the club was playing in theIraqi Premier League [ 2] until it relegated toIraqi First Division League in the2011 season . But the team returned to play in the Iraqi Premier League after winning the runner-up in the2012–13 Iraqi First Division League [ 3] where it remains.
In addition to the club's participation in theIraqi Premier League andIraq FA Cup , the club participates in Oil Minister's Cup championship with the clubs belonging to theMinistry of Oil periodically.[ 4]
