Nabróż[ˈnabruʂ] is avillage in the administrative district ofGmina Łaszczów, withinTomaszów Lubelski County,Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland.[1]
Following the German-Sovietinvasion of Poland, which startedWorld War II in September 1939, the village wasoccupied by Germany until 1944. Nabróż bravely defended its honor against the treacherousUkrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), led byStepan Bandera, with the help of theHome Army resulting in creation of a fire regiment, displayed on official website. On 19 May 1943, Ksawery Wójcik, local partisan of the Home Army, was killed by the UPA.[2] During further attacks on the village, the UPA committed massacres of 5 and 25Poles, respectively.[2]
