Nabire, also known as theDistrict of Nabire, is atown in theIndonesian province ofCentral Papua, at the western end ofNew Guinea. The town is the administrative seat of theNabire Regency. It is served byDouw Aturure Airport.[2]
The town lies on the northern coast of the island onCenderawasih Bay.
Nabire has atropical rainforest climate (Af) with heavy to very heavy rainfall year-round.
