TheNZR Q class were a pair of2-4-4T type tank engines built byRogers Locomotive and Machine Works inNew Jersey. They were similar, in appearance, to the earlierK class of the same manufacturer and were purchased by the Rakaia & Ashburton Forks Railway Company[1] for working their newly constructed railway toMethven fromRakaia, which later became theMethven Branch.[2]
