TheNomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) is ageocodestandard for referencing theadministrative division ofDenmark for statistical purposes.[1] The standard is developed and regulated by theEuropean Union.[2] The NUTS standard is instrumental in delivering the European Union'sStructural Funds. The NUTS code for Denmark isDK and a hierarchy of three levels is established byEurostat. Below these is a further levels of geographic organisation - the local administrative unit (LAU). In Denmark, the LAU 1 aremunicipalities and the LAU 2 areparishes.[3]
