NGC 701 is aspiral galaxy with a highstar formation rate in theconstellationCetus. It is estimated to be 86 millionlight years from theMilky Way and has adiameter of approximately 65,000light years. The object was discovered on January 10, 1785 by the German-BritishastronomerWilliam Herschel.[6][7][8]
