NGC 4605 is a dwarfbarred spiral galaxy[6] in theconstellationUrsa Major, located at a distance of 18.1 ± 0.3megalight-years from theMilky Way.[5] Physically it is similar in size and inB-band absolute magnitude to theLarge Magellanic Cloud.[6] It is a possible member of either theM81 Galaxy Group or theMessier 101 Group.[9]
