NGC 4343 is an unbarredspiral galaxy[5] in theconstellationVirgo. It was discovered by the astronomerWilliam Herschel on April 13, 1784.[6] At a distance of 80 million light-years (25 Mpc),[3] it is located in theVirgo Cluster.[2] It contains anactive galactic nucleus.[2]
