NGC 323 is anelliptical galaxy located in the constellationPhoenix. It was discovered on October 3, 1834, byJohn Herschel. It was described byDreyer as "pretty faint, small, round, brighter middle, preceding (western) of 2", the other beingNGC 328.[2]
