NGC 2844 is anunbarred spiral galaxy inLynx. It is classified as a type SAa galaxy.[2] It is visually similar to the galaxyMessier 64.

The galaxy was discovered on March 18, 1787, byWilliam Herschel. He described it as "considerably faint, considerably small".[3]
