NGC 201 is aspiral galaxy in theconstellation ofCetus. It is one of the group members ofHCG 7, with the other group membersNGC 192,NGC 196, andNGC 197. It was discovered on December 28, 1790 byWilliam Herschel.[2]

Onesupernova has been observed in NGC 201:SN 2019yc (Type IIb, mag. 16.7) was discovered byKōichi Itagaki on 22 January 2019.[3]
