NGC 1725 is alenticular galaxy in the constellationEridanus. The galaxy is listed in theNew General Catalogue. It was discovered on November 10, 1885 by the astronomerEdward Emerson Barnard.[3]
In 2009, atype Ia supernova was detected within NGC 1725. It was subsequently designated SN 2009F.[4]
