NGC 1100 is aspiral galaxy located around 235 millionlight-years away in theconstellation Eridanus.[1] NGC 1100 is situated close to thecelestial equator, and it was discovered on October 17, 1885, byFrancis Preserved Leavenworth.[2][1] NGC 1100 is not known to have muchstar formation, and is not known to have anactive galactic nucleus.[3]

Onesupernova has been observed in NGC 1100: SN 2024vcj (type Ia-91bg-like, mag. 19.36).[4]
