Neurogenin-2 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theNEUROG2gene.[5]

Neurogenin-2 is a member of theneurogenin subfamily of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH)transcription factor genes that play an important role inneurogenesis.[6]

It has been found to reprogramastrocytes to glutamatergic neurons when expressed.[7]
