Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment served as the title sponsor of the race in 2019 and 2020.[2] When they did not return in 2021, NASCAR did not set out to find a replacement title sponsor and instead named the race theNASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race (in previous years, many fans would refer to the last race of the season by that name anyway regardless of what the official name of the race was). The race winner's trophy (not the championship) however, refers the race as being unofficially titled theXfinity 200.
The race was a day race in 2020 and a night race in 2021.
In its four years as the last race of the Xfinity Series season, the driver who won the championship also won the race:Austin Cindric in2020,Daniel Hemric in 2021,Ty Gibbs in 2022 andCole Custer in 2023. That streak would be broken in 2024 asRiley Herbst won the race butJustin Allgaier won the championship.
