Verreaux's mouse orVerreaux's white-footed rat (Myomyscus verreauxii) is a species ofrodent in the familyMuridae. It is theonly species in thegenusMyomyscus. Other species that had been previously assigned toMyomyscus are now considered to belong to the generaMastomys,Ochromyscus,Praomys andStenocephalemys.[2][3]
It is found only inSouth Africa.Its naturalhabitats are temperateforests and Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation.
