Munsirhat railway station is a halt railway station onSantragachi–Amta branch line ofSouth Eastern Railway section of theKharagpur railway division. It is situated at Shankarhati,Munsirhat inHowrah district in the Indian state ofWest Bengal.[1][2]

History

Howrah to Amta narrow-gauge track was built in 1897 inBritish India. This route was the part of theMartin's Light Railways which was closed in 1971.[3] Howrah–Amta new broad-gauge line, including the Bargachia–Champadanga branch line was re constructed and opened in 2002–2004.[4][5]
