Munarvágr was a location on the southern shore ofSamsø, which is mentioned in thelegendary sagasHervarar saga andRagnar Lodbrok's saga.[1]
In theHervarar saga, it is whereHjalmar andOrvar-Odd foughtAngantyr and his brothers, the sons ofArngrim. Later, Angantyr's daughterHervor steps ashore in her quest to claim the enchanted swordTyrfing from thebarrow-wight of her own father.
In an epilogue to theRagnar Lodbrok's saga, some men find a wooden idol, 40ells high, which chants to them that it had been raised by the sons of Ragnar Lodbrok.
