Mușenița (German:Muschenitza) is acommune located inSuceava County,Bukovina, northeastern Romania. It is composed of five villages, namely: Baineț (the commune center), Climăuți, Mușenița, Vășcăuți, and Vicșani.
The commune is located in the northeastern part of the county, on the border withChernivtsi Oblast,Ukraine, at a distance of 12 km (7.5 mi) from the town ofSiret. The riverRuda flows through Baineț and Vicșani villages, discharging into theSuceava River in the neighboringDornești commune, while the river Grăvan flows through Vășcăuți village, discharging into theSiret River.
Vicșani railway station serves theCăile Ferate RomâneLine 500, which starts inBucharest and ends at theRomania–Ukraine border here.
TheMușenița gas field is located on the territory of the commune.
