TheMro National Development Party (Burmese:မြိုတိုင်းရင်းသားဖွံ့ဖြိုးရေးပါတီ; MNDP) is a political party inMyanmar, representing the Mro people in the westernRakhine State.
Following the reintroduction of multi-party democracy after the8888 Uprising, the party was established as theMro or Khami National Solidarity Organisation (MKNSO) byU San Tha Aung on 22 December 1988.[1] It contested four seats in the1990 general elections,[2] receiving 0.17% of the vote and winning one seat; U San Tha Aung inKyauktaw 2.[1]
The party re-registered to contest the2010 general elections,[3] putting forward nine candidates, but failing to win a seat.[4] It adopted its current name in 2014.[4] In the2015 general elections it nominated six candidates,[4] again failing to win a seat.
