The film was announced in October 2023, withJonathan Levine set to direct andNick Santora to write the script, andSkydance Sports producing.[1] In October 2024,David Corenswet was in talks to star asJohn Tuggle.[2]Isabel May was in talks to join in March 2025.[3]Michael Shannon joined the cast asBill Parcells in April 2025, along with the confirmation of May joining the cast.[4] In June 2025, it was revealed thatDavid Krumholtz had joined the cast.[5]
Principal photography began in April 2025 inVictoria, Australia, with locations includingMelbourne andGeelong.[6][7]
