TheMovement for a Europe of Liberties and Democracy (French:Mouvement pour l'Europe des libertés et de la démocratie), abbreviated toMELD, was anational-conservative[2]European political party founded in 2011, composed of parties belonging to theEurope of Freedom and Democracy (EFD) group in the European Parliament, with the notable absence of theUK Independence Party, which was a member of the EFD, but not of the MELD. In 2012, MELD received a grant from the European Parliament of €621,482.[3] Its affiliatedEuropean political foundation was theFoundation for a Europe of Liberties and Democracy (FELD), which received a grant of €412,361. Both were headquartered at 18, rue Cler, inParis,France.[4] The president of the party wasJacek Wlosowicz.
MELD was dissolved in 2015 by theEuropean Parliament due to misuse of EU funding.[5][6][7]
