Mount Strahan is amountain located on theWest Coast Range in theWest Coast region ofTasmania, Australia. With an elevation of 855 metres (2,805 ft)above sea level, the mountain is situated directly east ofMacquarie Harbour and, likeMount Sorell, dominates the east side of the harbour nearSarah Island.[2]
The mountain was named byThomas Bather Moore in honour of SirGeorge Strahan, aGovernor of Tasmania.[2]
