Morocco–Norway relations refer to bilateral relations betweenMorocco andNorway. Morocco has an embassy inOslo whilst Norway has an embassy inRabat.
In what has been called theLillehammer affair, Moroccan citizen Ahmed Bouchikhi was assassinated inLillehammer in 1973 byMossad, who mistook Bouchikhi forAli Hassan Salameh. Norway reacted with judicial prosecution of Mossad operatives.[1]
TheNorwegianembassy's alleged improper sheltering of twodual-citizenship children (ofKhalid Skah and Cecilie Hopstock) during their escape in 2009, led to adiplomatic dispute between the two countries.[2] The children stayed at the embassy for three days.[3] On the following day, Norway's ambassadorBjørn Blokhus left Morocco.[4] One year after the incident, Moroccan authorities had not approved any new ambassador from Norway.[4]
