Moov (stylized asMOOV) is asubscription-basedmusic,podcast and video streaming service that combineslossless audio and high-definition music videos with exclusive content and special features on music.[1][2] Moov was launched in 2006 byHong Kong public companyPCCW.[3][4]
The service has over 1.5 million tracks in losslessFLAC-based 16-Bit/44.1 kHz quality.[5] It has distribution agreements with close to 300 labels and content providers includingEMI,Gold Typhoon andSony Music.[6][3]Moov is currently available inHong Kong,Vietnam andMainland China.[7][8][9]
The platform is integrated with other PCCW products and services. Music contents are shared withHKT eye, a fixed network service. Video contents such as concerts and music videos are shared withNow TV, a subscription-based television network.[10]
After launching Moov inHong Kong in 2006, the company began to expand its service overseas. In 2013,PCCW partnersSMC,China Telecom and BestTV to expand the music streaming service toMainland China with the brand "摩音符 Moov".[6] Moov became the firstsubscription-basedmusic streaming service from outside ofMainland China to operate in China.[6] In 2016, Moov extends its streaming service toVietnam by partnering withVietnamobile and through signing deals with over 150 content providers in Vietnam.[7][2]
In 2014, Moov launches the LyricSnap! feature that allows users share music and lyric on social media platforms.[11][12]
In 2015, Moov has started to supportApple Watch and launches its losslessFLAC-based 16-Bit/44.1 kHz audio streaming service.[5]
In 2016, Moov launches the Therapeutic Music library with Cantonese audio inductions. The library contain playlists created by registered professional music therapists from around the world including theUnited States,Canada andAustralia, targeting different needs such as stress reduction, pregnancy soothing and sleep improvement.[13][14][15] Moov claims it to be "Asia's first and only Therapeutic Music Library".[16]
