Moonan Brook, a mostlyperennial stream of theHunter River catchment, is located in theHunter region ofNew South Wales,Australia.
Officially designated as a river,[1] the Moonan Brook rises belowMount Barrington on the western slopes ofMount Royal Range. The river flows generally west northwest before reaching itsconfluence with the Hunter River near the locality of Moonan Flat, east ofScone. Moonan Brook descends 943 metres (3,094 ft) over its 26 kilometres (16 mi)course.[2]
