Monta Vista High School is a four-yearpublic high school inCupertino, California. Part of theFremont Union High School District, the school serves most of the area of western Cupertino. In 2025, Monta Vista was ranked byU.S. News as the 129th best high school in the United States.[3]
As of 2024, Asian Americans comprise 79.5% of the student body.[4]
Monta Vista High opened in 1969.[5]
In 2014, a new field, track, and stadium were built along with a newstudent union and newly renovated cafeteria and six classrooms.[6]
On November 8, 2024, Monta Vista High School went into lockdown owing to false reports of anactive shooter. All students and staff were released after sheriffs completed their search of the campus and gave the all-clear.[7]
