Monet Happy Mazur (born April 17, 1976) is an American actress.[1][2][3] She is best known as Laura Fine-baker onThe CW showAll American (TV series). She was born and raised in Los Angeles and she started acting in her early teenage, Monet is also a professional model, her presence in the acting and modelling industry is over 20 years

Life

Mazur was born inLos Angeles, California,[1] the daughter ofRuby Mazur, anillustrator known for creating the "tongue" logo forthe Rolling Stones' "Tumbling Dice" single jacket, and a former model.[2] Mazur is the oldest of four siblings and the only daughter – their given names were taken from the surnames of famous artists (Monet, a brother named forMatisse, and twin brothers named forCézanne andMiro).[3] Mazur is ofJewish ancestry on her father's side.[3][4] Mazur's cousin isEpic Mazur of the bandCrazy Town, in which she appeared in the music video to their song "Revolving Door" alongsideKimberly Stewart.[5]

In April 2005, Mazur married British film directorAlex de Rakoff. They have two sons, born in 2005 and 2011.[4][6] In July 2018, the couple filed for divorce.[7]

Career

Mazur began modeling and acting in her teens. One of her most well-known ad campaigns is the three TV commercials for Gap she did with director Adam Daelay in 1999: "Everybody in Cords", "Everybody in Leather" and "Everybody in Vests", in which she sings. She has appeared in a number of widely released films in the past several years, includingTorque,Dead Man Running,Monster-in-Law,Stoned, andJust Married. She has also appeared in several television series, includingCastle,CSI: Miami,Cold Case,Strange World,Chuck, andRizzoli & Isles.

Early in the first (2009) season of the television seriesNCIS: Los Angeles, Mazur appeared in a single episode as aSecret Service agent who is enamored withChris O'Donnell's lead character. While the role was potentially to be recurring, Mazur’s character did not reappear on the series.[8] She appeared in three episodes, over the first three seasons ofCastle as Gina, the publisher and second ex-wife of characterRichard Castle.

Since 2018 she has played Laura Baker inThe CW drama series,All American, which was renewed for a sixth season in January 2023, and renewed for a seventh season in June 2024.
