Ramon "Mon" Jose is aFilipino basketball coach who serving as one of the three assistant coaches underChito Victolero of theMagnolia Hotshots in thePBA.

He also played for theDe La Salle Green Archers from 1997 to 2000 underFranz Pumaren. Coached by Franz Pumaren, he played withRenren Ritualo, future San Juan MayorFrancis Zamora,Don Allado, andDino Aldeguer who made a famous crucial shot in 1999 UAAP Basketball finals game 3.[2]

Playing career

Jose was drafted byPop Cola Panthers in the PBA,[3] but only played for one season after Panthers was disbanded. He tried to try-out a spot forPurefoods, but failed.[4]

Coaching career

Jose coached a lot of teams, including the De La Salle Women’s Team,Centro Escolar University Men’s Basketball Team and the RP Youth Team (3 on 3 Basketball) which participated in the1stYouth Olympic Games in 2010.[5]

He also served as an assistantCollege of Saint Benilde Blazers as well asHapee Toothpaste for thePhilippine Basketball League andCoca-Cola Tigers underBinky Favis at the PBA.[5][6]

From 2010, became an assistant coach forNational University Bulldogs and won a UAAP championship on2014.[7]

In 2014, he was tapped as assistant coach for theStar Hotshots, with another formerGreen ArchersJason Webb andTonyboy Espinosa.[5]

When Derrick Pumaren returned to La Salle, Jose was one of the assistant coaches tapped in.[8]
