Moiynkum (Kazakh:Мойынқұм ауданы,Moiynqūm audany) is adistrict ofJambyl Region in south-easternKazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is theauyl ofMoiynkum.[2]
The district is named after theMoiynkum Desert and lies at the northeastern edge of the desert.[3][4]
Parts of it are in the lower basin of theChu river, as well as byLake Balkhash. LakesKashkanteniz andKarakol are located in the district.[5][6][7]
