Mohnish Bahl (born 14 August 1961)[1] is anIndian actor working in theIndian film industry and onIndian television.

Career

Mohnish Bahl debuted with the filmBekarar[2] in a supporting role oppositePadmini Kolhapure andSanjay Dutt but the film was a critical and commercial failure. His subsequent release wasTeri Bahon Mein, a remake ofThe Blue Lagoon with Ayesha Dutt, wife ofJackie Shroff, which was also a failure.[3] His only commercial success in a leading role wasPurana Mandir though it was considered a B grade film.[4] The filmsHum Aapke Hain Koun andHum Saath-Saath Hain are considered landmark films that transformed Bahl's career.[4] He has starred in over 100 films, and has been nominated for twoFilmfare Awards.

Early life and family

Bahl was born inMumbai,Maharashtra, India. He is the only son of noted actressNutan and Lt. Cdr. Rajnish Bahl,[5] and is a prominent member of theMukherjee-Samarth family.

He married actressAarti Bahl on 23 April 1992 and they have two children: actressPranutan Bahl and Krishaa Bahl.[6]
