He is a member of theParti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GAGASAN), a component party of theGabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition and was a former member of theUnited Malays National Organisation of Sabah (Sabah UMNO), a component party of theBarisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was expelled from Sabah UMNO before joining GAGASAN on 21 February 2023.[1]
