Mohammed Taufiq bin Johari (Jawi: محمّد توفيق بن جوهري; born 6 March 1996) is aMalaysianpolitician who has served as theMember of Parliament (MP) forSungai Petani since November 2022. He is a member and the Division Chief of Sungai Petani of thePeople's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of thePakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. He also served as one of the Vice Youth Chiefs of PKR since May 2025. He is the son of the 11thSpeaker of the Dewan Rakyat and former Sungai Petani MPJohari Abdul. He is also the sole government MP in the "Malay Belt". As the current youngest serving MP in Malaysia, he is informally theBaby of the House of theDewan Rakyat.
Mohammed Taufiq was born inKuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 6 March 1996. He is the sixth child of Johari and Noraini Mohd who had eight children together. He has seven siblings. He attended school at Gombak High School, Selangor before furthering his studies at theBandung Islamic University to obtain hisDoctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
On 9 March 2024, he married 26-year-old Fathiya Ainul Mardhiyah Andri Nopendra ofIndonesia in a wedding ceremony held at theSungai Petani Municipal Council (MPSPK) hall which was attended by his parents,Prime MinisterAnwar Ibrahim,Minister of Home AffairsSaifuddin Nasution Ismail,Minister of Domestic Trade and Costs of LivingArmizan Mohd Ali,President of the Dewan NegaraMutang Tagal,Inspector-General of PoliceRazarudin Husain, other MPs and foreign dignitaries.[1]
