Mohamed Bayo (born 4 June 1998) is a professionalfootballer who plays as aforward for TurkishSüper Lig clubGaziantep on loan fromLille.[1] Born in France, he plays for theGuinea national team.

Bayo was born inClermont-Ferrand, France, toGuinean parents.

Club career

In January 2019, Bayo was loaned fromClermont, where he became professional, toDunkerque until the end of the season.[2] On 25 June 2019, Dunkerque extended the loan for the duration of the 2019–20 season.[3]

Clermont

In the2020–21 season, Bayo helped his hometown club Clermont achieve promotion toLigue 1 for the first time by finishing asLigue 2 top scorer with 22 goals.[4]

Lille

On 13 July 2022, Bayo joined Ligue 1 sideLille on a five-year deal.[5]

On 3 February 2025, Bayo moved on loan toAntwerp in Belgium until the end of the season.[6] On 31 August 2025, Bayo joinedGaziantep in Turkey on loan.[7]

International career

Bayo holds French and Guinean nationalities.[8] He debuted with theGuinea national team in a 1–02021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win overMali on 24 March 2021.[9]

On 20 December 2021, he was selected from the list of 27 Guinean players selected byKaba Diawara to compete in the2021 Africa Cup of Nations.[10] On 23 December 2023 he was again included in the list of 25 players selected for the2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Personal life

In October 2021, Bayo was taken into police custody in France after a hit-and-run following a traffic accident.[11]
