Modern Peru (Spanish:Perú Moderno), is a political party inPeru. Founded and led by businessman Wilson Aragón Ponce, the party gained notoriety as its executive committee is entirely composed of the founder's family.[1]
Upon confirming partisan registration at theNational Jury of Elections in 2024, the party announced the affiliation ofAjegroup businessmanCarlos Añaños, signaling a potential presidential run at the2026 general election.[2] Nevertheless, Añaños rescinded his presidential aspirations following discrepancies with the party leader Aragón on congressional candidate fielding.[3] Añaños subsequently left the party.[4]
Among its members running for the party's presidential nomination for 2026 are incumbent congressmanCarlos Anderson, formerminister of Energy and Mines,Rómulo Mucho, and architectPedro Guevara.[5]

Three months after announcing his incorporation to Modern Peru, founded by Wilson Aragón Ponce, businessman Carlos Añaños resigned from his presidential candidacy for the party, due to strong disagreements with the owner of the well-known brand of blanketsTigre. However, the founder of Grupo Aje will remain as a member.

While some parties have started to open the doors to Añaños' faction, others prefer to hold on to the option of Congress approving an extension of the affiliation period in order to make a more thoughtful decision with a view to the 2026 general elections.
