Modern China Studies (traditional Chinese: 當代中國研究;simplified Chinese: 当代中国研究[5]), abbreviated asMCS,[6] also translated into English asContemporary China Studies,[7] is aUnited States-based[8]peer-reviewed internationaljournal focusing on discussing contemporary issues and current affairs in thePeople's Republic of China,[9] published biannually featuring articles in eitherChinese orEnglish. It is owned and published by theCenter on Contemporary China (当代中国研究中心) atPrinceton University.[10]

Modern China Studies was founded byShaomin Li (李少民) in 1990[11] in Princeton University,[12] its content mainly covers the fields ofpolitics,economy,law,society,culture,international relations,environmental protection,modern history andhumanities. Submissions to the journal will undergo adouble-blind peer-review process.[13]
