Mnizus orMnizos (Ancient Greek:Μνῆζος), orMinizus orMinizos, was a small town inancient Galatia, betweenLagania andAncyra, where theEmperor Anastasius must have lived for some time, as several of his constitutions are dated from that place, both in theCodex Theodosianus and theCodex Justinianeus.[1] It appears in theNotitiae Episcopatuum as a bishopric. It also appears, under the nameRhegemnezus orRhegemnezos (Ῥεγέμνηζος) in theSynecdemus.[2] It appears asMizagus in theTabula Peutingeriana. No longer a residential bishop, Mnizus remains atitular see of theRoman Catholic Church.[3]
Its site is located nearBalçiçek Çiftliği,Asiatic Turkey.[4][5]
