Mitchell James Owen (born 16 September 2001) is an Australiancricketer.[1] He made hisTwenty20 debut on 12 January 2021, for theHobart Hurricanes, in the2020–21 Big Bash League season.[2] He made hisList A debut on 22 February 2021, forTasmania in the2020–21 Marsh One-Day Cup.[3] He made hisFirst-class cricket debut for Tasmania on 3 October 2023 againstSouth Australia, in the2023–24 Sheffield Shield season.[4]

On 21 December 2024, Owen made 101not out to lead the Hobart Hurricanes to an eight-wicket win over thePerth Scorchers.[5] His 101 came off 64 balls, including five sixes and nine fours.[6]

On 27 January 2025, Owen equalled the record for the fastest BBL century in the final of the2024-25 season against theSydney Thunder, eventually recording 108 runs off 42 balls and leading the Hobart Hurricanes to their maiden title.[7]

International career

In June 2025, Owen earned his maiden international call up; being namedAustralian T20I squad for the tour of theWest Indies in July.[8]
