The 14,074-foot (4,290 m)fourteener is located in theCollegiate Peaks Wilderness ofSan Isabel National Forest, 15.2 miles (24.5 km) northwest by west (bearing 302°) of theTown of Buena Vista inChaffee County,Colorado,United States.[1][2][3][4] Missouri Mountain is separated from its eastern neighborMount Belford byElkhead Pass (13,220 feet).[6]
