Miss Beazley Bush (October 28, 2004 – May 17, 2014) was aScottish Terrier which belonged to formerU.S. PresidentGeorge W. Bush and formerU.S. First LadyLaura Bush.[2]

Miss Beazley's father, a Scottish terrier named Clinton, was born onNovember 7, 2000.[1] Clinton was the half-brother of the Bushes' first Scottish terrier,Barney.[1] Miss Beazley's mother, Blackwatch Elizabeth, was bred by dog breeder Patricia Gilmore ofLivingston, New Jersey.[1] Gilmore also bred Miss Beazley, apurebred Scottish terrier who was born in 2004.[1]

Miss Beazley was adopted as a birthday present from President Bush to First Lady Laura Bush.[2][3] She moved into theWhite House as a ten-week-old puppy on January 6, 2005, shortly before the beginning of President Bush's second term in office.[1][2] The First Lady and her daughtersBarbara andJenna Bush named their new dog after a character fromOliver Butterworth's 1956 children's book,The Enormous Egg.[1]

Miss Beazley and the Bushes' first Scottish Terrier,Barney, became well knownUnited States presidential pets.[2] In 2005, Miss Beazley and Barney were featured in the White House Christmas video,A Very Beazley Christmas, for her first holiday in the White House.[4]

Miss Beazley continued to live inTexas with the former presidential family until her death on May 17, 2014, fromlymphoma.[2][5][3]

Barney and Miss Beazley are honored with a bronze sculpture at theGeorge W. Bush Presidential Center.[6]
